SW PORTLAND, OR
As you entered this gem of a midcentury modern home you could see right into the living room. After replacing the white tile with slate I designed the room divider bookcase with two large storage drawers. You can still see into the living room but the entrance is now much more inviting. I had the wood ceiling painted a soft white and left the beams natural. The new armless chairs and classic modern sofa respect the architecture of the home. I left the fireplace in its original stone. The dining room begged for drama…so I gave the walls a rich chili pepper paint color and added a bright modern piece of art. The light fixture bling is a fun surprise! My clients hardly used this room before the makeover. Now I'm happy to say they use it constantly.
