Fabrics and wallpapers change as fast as our fashion runways. Find out whats on trend in interior designs two big mainstays...fabrics and wallpapers!
Here are some trends predicted for interior design 2020
FABRICS~
FEMININE COLORS
The market is presenting a whole host of pastel colors, harkening to a more feminine feel.
I used a creamy pink velvet coverlet and a satiny robins -egg- blue decorative pillow that are feminine and inviting in this master bedroom.
VELVET
I'm seeing it EVERYWHERE from fashion to home decor.
LARGE GEOMETRIC PRINTS
The modern movement isn't going anywhere soon, geometric prints in uphostery, bedding and pillows are alive and well.
NAUTRE INSPIRED FABRICS
WALLPAPER ~
NATURE INSPIRED
My client in Reno had an upstairs crows- nest that he wanted to make into an office. This nature scene gone wild was just the remedy for an otherwise simple space.
METALIC
Metalic wallpaper is great for the NW with our gray days...I used it on this long narrow hallway and it added unexpected interest and lots of refelective light!
There are no windows in this powder room, the low light reflective wallpaper made it come alive.
My design challenge in this NW PDX condo was to incorporate the very dominant cement column. I used a metalic wallpaper that mimics the pattern of cement. I also wrapped the walls in metallic paint. This bedroom glows...
I hope you are ready for a change...a change is as good as a rest...new wallpaper and fabrics can give you a lot of impact for the $.
Have fun ...you can always change out a throw pillow or accent wall of wallpaper (stick and peal) the important part is to make the change!
